Devlog #24


 Hello fellow Drynorians! From now on, these posts will be named Devlog, don’t even ask why it wasn’t like so from the beginning. Anyway, quick reminder, if you missed our poll last week, here is our feedback poll for 0.5.5.3, I want to do this each update so it’ll be easier for our players to give feedback, which is invaluable for us.

 This week has been a stressful but good one, as I had a chance to present our project in an online seminar and participated in a short interview. I’ll share when they upload those videos(hopefully with subtitles?) and update their page. It was quite stressful but everything went well beyond my expectations and people really liked our game!

 This update has been a little slow for many reasons, I noticed that one of the reasons was a miscommunication between me and ShySeel, which led to her working on renewing our old camp assets before adding new assets. So I’ve been fixing bugs and improving my systems. Also we’ve been under a lot of stress lately, so we were taking it slow a bit. But since I’ve felt motivated today and this was also something I wanted to do for a while now, I added a new skill check mechanic. It’ll replace current combat skill check and I might also do it if I need skill check anywhere in the game. 

 I’m not sure if I’ll be able to implement it into combat this update though.

 To add the story I have in mind about Dianna’s upcoming questline, I asked ShySeel for a new creature as well as a new slime type and little addition to our already existing forest tileset. The new camp assets are absolutely beautiful and I’m extremely excited to add them into the game. I’m also really excited about the new monster(spoiler: It’ll be some kind of guardian tree that will cut our path in this questline).

 Hey there, it’s Shyseel. As Psycho-Male mentioned earlier and I have been talking about this on the previous couple weekly updates but I have been working on the Icy Fang, Diana and camp sprites. Which is fine, but I have been sick this update already, which led to things being delayed. I will start working on the new map and new monsters as soon as possible.
